Please come AUDITION for the WORLD PREMIERE production of Weedpatch!
This first-ever NCFO commission, with music by Stanford University’s Paul Phillips, and book and libretto by Grammy-winning storyteller Bill Harley, is set at the historical Weedpatch School, built and run by Oklahoma migrants, who show resilience and humor in the face of poverty and hostility from the settled Californians. Gorgeous music, many solo roles, lots of chorus singing and opportunities to dance - including hoedowns, of course!
There is nothing quite like being part of a world premiere. It's sometimes easy and exciting, sometimes messy and frustrating, but always exhilarating and fulfilling. Please come and immerse yourself with us in this tremendously creative endeavor as we bring this brand-new work to life, with all new sets, costumes, choreography, and orchestration!
