Directions to the John M. Tobin School, 197 Vassal Lane, Cambridge, Mass.

From the Charles River, traveling North on Fresh Pond Parkway (Rt. 16)

Turn right onto Huron Avenue. Turn left onto Lakeview Avenue (at the first traffic light). Take the second right onto Vassal Lane, just before the road merges with Fresh Pond Parkway. The Tobin school will appear on your left. Turn immediately left into the driveway just before the school to enter the parking lot, or park in the circular driveway in front of the school.

From Arlington/Belmont traveling South on Fresh Pond Parkway (Rt. 16)

Turn left onto Huron Avenue. Turn left onto Lakeview Avenue (at the first traffic light). Take the second right onto Vassal Lane, just before the road merges with Fresh Pond Parkway. The Tobin school will appear on your left. Turn immediately left into the driveway just before the school to enter the parking lot, or park in the circular driveway in front of the school.

From Arlington, traveling South/East on Massachusetts Avenue

Turn right (gentle right) onto Cedar St. at the second light after entering Cambridge (Cambridge Point Condominiums on the corner). At the end of the street, turn right onto Rindge Ave. (at the big church). At the first light, turn left onto Sherman Street. After passing Danehy Park and St. Peters Field (about 0.5 miles), take the first right onto Walden St. At the third light, turn right onto Huron Ave. Turn right onto Lakeview Avenue (at the first traffic light). Take the second right onto Vassal Lane, just before the road merges with Fresh Pond Parkway. The Tobin school will appear on your left. Turn immediately left into the driveway just before the school to enter the parking lot, or park in the circular driveway in front of the school.

From Harvard Square, traveling North/West on Massachusetts Avenue

Turn left onto Upland Road (at the T-station in Porter Square). At the 4-way stop, turn right onto Raymond Street. After one block, at the first light, turn left onto Walden Street. At the fourth traffic light, turn right onto Huron Avenue. Turn right onto Lakeview Avenue (at the first traffic light). Take the second right onto Vassal Lane, just before the road merges with Fresh Pond Parkway. The Tobin school will appear on your left. Turn immediately left into the driveway just before the school to enter the parking lot, or park in the circular driveway in front of the school.

From Harvard Square on Concord Avenue or Garden Street

Turn left onto Huron Avenue. After about 1/2 mile, turn right onto Lakeview Avenue (second light after Concord Avenue). Take the second right onto Vassal Lane, just before the road merges with Fresh Pond Parkway. The Tobin school will appear on your left. Turn immediately left into the driveway just before the school to enter the parking lot, or park in the circular driveway in front of the school.

Public transportation options:

72 bus (Harvard Square/Mt. Auburn Cemetary). Get off on Huron Avenue at Standish Street. Walk two blocks north on Standish to the school.

74 bus / 75 bus (Harvard Square/Belmont Center) and 78 bus (Harvard Square/Park Circle/Arlmont Village). Get off on Concord Avenue at Alpine Street. Walk one block south on Alpine to Vassal Lane, turn right and follow to the school.
